My Travelling: Photo Essay on Rajmachi Fort

Rajmachi Fort consists of two forts Shrivardhan fort and Manaranjan Fort. It is about 16 km of trekking distance from Lonavala. The small village Udhewadi situated here.

My Travelling: KHAJURAHO, Madhya Pradesh

The Khajuraho is a small town in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh in Chhatarpur district.

It is 175 Km from Jhansi and located near Mahoba. It is well connected with rail , road and air, railway station is approx. 6 Km from the main temple site.

Khajuraho is famous for the group of temples and there were built by Chandela dynasty between 950 to 1010.As per historical record there were total 85 temples in the Khajuraho and at present 20 are left. The temple site is within the vindhya mountain range.

The temples ate mainly divided in three parts that are Eastern group, Western group and Southern group of temples.

The tourism at Khajuraho is also famous for cultural events:

  1. Khajuraho Dance Festival:

This festival held every year in the month of February having features of Indian classical dances.

  • Light and Sound Show :

At the complex of temple there is light and sound show held every day in evening in English and Hindi language. This show must attend to understand about history of temples and Chandala dynasty.

  • Tribal folk Dance: 

MP Tourism’s Cultural centre organize fantastic tribal folk dance every evening performed by local young artists. This show includes the shades of various themes. It is worth to see, nice one and good effort by local tribal artists.

  • Adivart Tribal and Folk Art Museum:

Adivart Tribal and Folk Art Museum is a place to visit in Khajuraho near to temples. Here one can find the beautiful collection of tribal and folk art. This collection included tribal antiques, paintings, jewellery, terracotta objects, bamboo items and metal craft.

KEN GHARIAL SCANTUARY:

Ken gharial Scantuary is about 25 Km from Khajuraho.This is dedicated to breeding programme and place for gharials ,belongs to family of crocodile. The sanctuary is located at the confluence of River Ken and Khudar.

RANEH FALL

One can see beautiful rock formation here at Raneh Fall.This is about 6 Km from Ken gharial Scantuary. The fall height is about 30 mtrs.

The Ken River is 5 Km long and 30 mtrs deep canyon or gorge having pure crystalline granite in varying colours shade like pink, red and grey.

My Travelling: Orchha, Madhya Pradesh

In last December 2018 visited Orchha, a great experience.

Orchha is a town in Tikamgarh district in Madhya Pradesh, India is 80 Km from Tikamgarh and 15 Km from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. It is established by Rudra Pratap Singh and became the first king of Orchha.

Orchha is on the bank of river Betwa and this Betwa river here split in seven channels called as “Satdhara”.

Places to visits in Orchha are:

  1. Ram Raja Temple
  2. Chaturbhuj Temple
  3. Janahgir Mahal
  4. Cenotaphs or Chhatris

Ram Raja Temple

The Ram Raja temple only place where lord Ram worshipped both as Lord Ram and as a King.

The Prasad at Ram Raja Temple:

Prasad (A devotional offering made to a god, typically consisting of food that is later shared among devotees.) has its speciality. This consists perfumed dipped cotton wound on stick and Betal leaf Paan  which is given to devotee as welcome , as devotee treat here as guest of King Ram  and laddoos .
